CRC Donates Money to help Cambodian Refugee Poetry Book Project
Cambodian Reconciliation Committee (CRC), on April 24, 2010  donated  $100.00 to support a Cambodian Refugee Poetry Book Project.

O! Maha Mount Dangrek ( Poetry)
On April 24, 2010 at 1:00 PM, Cambodians in the city of Fresno, California had a chance to meet Mr. Samkhann C. Khoeun, Editor & Translator of the book O! Maha Mount Dangrek.  Ms. Srey Peou Phoeun and Mr. Sinat Nhok , who both trained in traditional poetry, came from Cambodia, chanted and performed Khmer music, at the Ratanakmondol Temple. Their performances reminded us a lot about our lives during the Khmer Rouge regime and the refugee’s experience.
One of Ms. Srey Peou Phoeun’s poetry chanting performance highlighted the values of the mother and father that no such thing can buy. The message for all of us is that we must love and care for our parents.



CRC Donates Money to Help Haiti Earthquake’s Victims
Cambodian Reconciliation Committee (CRC), Khmer in Fresno, Bakersfield, San Diego, Modesto and Newark held a Bon Pka Prak Samaky to raise money on January 23, 2010 and donated a total of $1,400.00 to support Haiti Earthquake's victims through American Red Cross in Fresno, California.

CRC meet with KEEP and Parents
On 02-05-10 CRC invited by Mr. Setha Nhim ( Khmer Emerging Education Program’s director) to meet with the Cambodian’s parents and KEEP’s teachers. Mr. Sopheaktra Nou talk about the US Census2010 to parents and community members. On behalf of CRC, I urge you to be counted in the 2010 Census. CRC Donated Money to Help Ketsana’s Victims
Cambodian Reconciliation Committee (CRC) and Khmer people in Fresno held a Bon Pka Prak Samakee to raise money on November 14, 2009 and donated a total of $1,000USD to support flood and Ketsana’s victims in Cambodia. On behalf of Cambodian Reconciliation Committee, Inc. Mr. Sanoeun Nhothsiri hand over the money to Mr. Hout Cheng Chhay at Cambodian Red Cross Head Quarter # 17, Street Cambodian Red Cross ( Street 180) Phnom Penh, Kingdom of Cambodia.




Asian Pacific Islander Leadership Council on 11-12-09
On November 12, 2009, the Asian Pacific Islander (API) Leadership met and greeted with H.E. Jim Costa (US Congress in California's 20th District. API received a lot of information from this meeting. CRC and Friends in Fresno do the Kathin Ceremony
Kathin means sewing the robe. In this context, Bon Kathin means Saffron Robe Offering that arranged to offer Buddhist monks who have been staying in one particular place during 3 months of rain retreat. This year BE.2553 (2009) starts from July 30 to October 26. These complete 3 months Buddhist Lent hibernation of Bhikkhu Monks significantly qualifies their receiving of Saffron Robe Offering. This offering is remarkably addressed by Lord Buddha as a rare ceremony of the year and the Kathin ceremony hosts can gain tremendous merit. Cambodian Reconciliation Committee, Inc. is a member of Asian Pacific Islander Leadership in Fresno, CA. On July 7, 2009, the API had a chance to meet with a Fresno Mayor Swearengin. After the meeting, we met and greeted followed by Cambodian, Hmong, and Lao cultural performances.

Cambodian Leader Meeting
The Khmer Leadership meeting that was held on July 12, 2009 in Fresno was the first meeting to establish a leadership group. This leadership group composed of talented, skillful and various level of experienced Khmers in the Fresno community. When fully established, the leadership group will have its own name and detailed vision to preserve, assist, serve, and organize events for the community of Fresno. The next meeting will be August 8, 2009 at the Fresno County Library’s Sunnyside branch.
